Deersfield

We had a very enjoyable week at Deersfield.

The cottage was large, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the dock reading, and watching the loons and ducks. We walked to the beaver dam, sat on the rocks watching and listening to the water flow. We drove to the Haliburton Forest and hiked one of the trails and saw a bear. Buttermilk Falls and the White Water Kayak course on the Gull River were close by and very nice. We also drove to Dorset, climbed the lookout tower, ate ice cream and toured Robinson's General Store. On our last day we learned that Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream is sold at the corner store in Carnarvon. We saw a bear at the dump and a deer near the dump. The neighbors were very friendly. We would recommend this cottage to others.

Deerfield provides a true cottage experience on a clear, sandy lake. The cottage has all the amenities needed and more (a dishwasher and washer/dryer were heaven). The large property is great for kids with lots of energy. Whether you want to simply take in the sights and sounds (the loons and ducks come right up to the dock) of the lake off the dock or gather round the campfire for s'mores, it offers everything you desire.
