Bluebeary Hill cottage is very well appointed inside and out. It is at or near the end of a twisty and hilly road with the last 2kms being gravel. We arrived after some heavy rain, so there were big ruts and washouts. The waterfront is lovely with a long and large dock for your sitting and swimming pleasure. The property is very well landscaped with granite steps leading up and down to various spots to connect with nature. Inside, the cottage has an historic charm with enormous exposed beams with an obvious blue berry and bear theme (everywhere). The little bit of rain we had did not keep us cooped up, as we could make trips into West Guilford, Haliburton, various golf courses and the Kennisis Lake Marina. Note - the owners live next door, they are certainly not nosy and are at the ready should you need anything. A very enjoyable experience overall.

The cottage is beautiful and well kept. The lake is excellent for swimming. The grounds were beautiful. The owners were very kind and helpful when we needed them. Due to a storm our power went out but they were right there with a generator to keep us going until the power came back on. We had a really great stay at Bluebeary Hill.

Bluebeary Hill Cottage was fantastic. The cottage was gorgeous and very well appointed. Wonderful large dock and the landscaping was unbelievable. Just know that there are quite a few stairs leading down to the dock and fire pit. It would be a challenge for people with mobility issues. The owners were lovely too!

Lovely cottage both inside and out. A few things to note if you are considering renting:
1) the owners live next door and are there full time in the summer so if you prefer a rental where they owners are not close by this might be an issue for you
2) lots of steps down to the water . hard to tell in pictures but the dock is many steps down from the cottage so if you have mobility issues or prefer a cottage right by the dock this is something to consider.
Once down at the dock, it is a fabulous set up, large dock, clean fabulous large open water and a shared raft with the owners that you are welcome to use
3) lots of steps down to the fire pit as well
4) owners came by at 10AM wondering why we hadn't checked out yet and reiterated several times that they thought check out was 10AM . it was uncomfortable to have to explain that it was stated in the email that it was 11 and to go so far as to share the email to prove that we hadn't overstayed past check out.
5) not a lot of flat land for games on the land around the cottage and no board games for kids in the cottage
6) bedding and layout were fabulous and comfortable

Cottage is of a high caliber with very nice touches. It’s comfortable and spacious and the grounds and gardens are pretty. We were disappointed though with the distance and number of stairs down to the dock and they could be difficult for seniors and young children. One of the bedrooms has a section of the wall removed to accommodate ironwork. Only mentioning as the noise from downstairs is easily heard, in case that has to be a consideration. The loft with 2 single beds is only accessible by a steep ladder and not suitable for young children. Hope these few details help.
