My son and I spent 8 days here and couldn't have asked for anything more. This is not a 'High End' cottage, it is traditional place in the woods, right on Eagle Lake, Quiet and comfortable. If you like hiking through untamed areas, or following a trail, this is an ideal location,Haliburton village is 10-15 minuets away, but the store at Eagle Lake is only 5 minuets, and has pretty much everything you need, including an LCBO and a deli counter. The WiFi connection is spotty and there is no dishwasher or laundry; I consider all of that frivolous and it had no affect on the stay at all. The full satellite tv is a distinct advantage. We were there in mid-September, so not as many 'weekenders' as usual. Neighbours are close, but almost impossible to know they are there; the ones to the left are permanent residents. I will definitely be back.

We stayed at this cottage for a week. Cottage location and setting is really nice, you have neighbours but there is plenty of privacy, setting we actually liked.
We enjoyed the style of the cottage, it is actually nice size cottage, sun room, deck and the back yard...we mostly used those areas. Kitchen is new, well stocked and actually nice, living room and dining / dinette is also nice.
Bathroom is nice, not too big not too small, just right for a cottage.
Our main issue was with the bed quality. Beds are not comfortable and we couldn't get a nice sleep. Another issue was with the wifi, internet didn't work.
Overall, it is a nice cottage of average value.
If the beds were more comfortable we would definitely be back, without it probably still would come back.

We will pass your comments about the beds along to the cottage owner

The cottage and the garden are on the lake. The trees are beautifull and can give you some shade in the Summer. It is a beautifull place to get away and forget about everything

Upon arrival we were very pleased with the lot this cottage is on, as its pretty much flat, other than the driveway slope. The cottage itself is very nice and spacious for a small family. We found the queen size mattress a bit uncomfortable and it would have been nice to see a ceiling fan in each of the rooms. The only few complaints I would say is the size of the Fridge as we found for 2 people rather small, and the amount of webs around the cottage/doorways/windows. We had to clear them off before entering the cottage and doorways/windows.
Overall review we loved our time there, so tranquil and scenic , it was nice to hear the loons late in the night and early morning..we had a few friends visiting us each day which were Ducks(,Fred & Ginger were our favorite)<

One of the many highlights of this cottage is the sunroom that overlooks the lake -- especially useful on those rainy days or cool evenings. The large dock as well as the deck was perfect for enjoying the beautiful lake views and quiet sunsets. The cottage is located in a quiet area away from the sounds of traffic, yet a reasonably close drive to services in Eagle Lake or Haliburton. The place is very well maintained and spotless. Hope to have the opportunity to return.
