The perfect extended or multi-generation family retreat! The Canning Lake House consists of a 6-bedroom, 5-washroom cottage, plus a 1 bedroom + sleeping loft, 1-washroom suite above the boat house. The cottage is laid out perfectly for multi-generation families. The main floor consists of large, open concept kitchen, dining room and living room area with plenty of space for the entire family to gather. The kitchen is very well stocked with ample space for preparing large family meals. The second fridge in the pantry is a life saver! There is a large 'Haliburton Room' off of the kitchen. Also located on the main floor is the master bedroom with Queen bed and large ensuite washroom with shower and soaker tub. Upstairs you will find a second den with gas fireplace. There are a total of four bedrooms upstairs designed to accommodate two separate family units. There are two bedrooms on either side of the den. In between each set of two bedrooms is a Jack and Jill washroom, so each family has their own washroom. Downstairs is a large den, bedroom, 3-PC washroom and a second full kitchen. Beside the cottage is a large boat house with a two bedroom, one washroom suite up above. One bedroom has a Queen bed. The second bedroom is a loft style room with a queen mattress on the floor (best suited for a young couple/older kids). There is also a full kitchen in the boat house suite. Down below in the boat house, enjoy some time in the full size sauna, or a soak in the hot tub by the main house. There is a great sand beach, as well as a dock and swim raft, in front of the boat house. In front of the cottage, enjoy some time on the lakeside deck overhanging the edge of the lake with plenty of seating space. There are various benches/seats set up in quiet locations around the property over looking the lake. The cottage is located on a 5-lake chain running all the way into Haliburton and offering endless opportunity for fishing. The cottage itself is conveniently located just minutes from the village of Minden. Also enjoy the use of unlimited internet access and numerous non-motorized watercraft.

Beautiful location, large enough to fit multi-generation family vacation

This was a lovely spot that is large enough for extended family to stay all together for a week while still giving enough privacy to individual family units. There is a boathouse that is it's own cottage, a top floor with four very large bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room, a bedroom on main floor with own bathroom, an entire apartment on the basement floor. Lots to do in terms of boating, swimming, fishing, kids toys, games room, movies, etc. Everything you'd need.

This was our second time at the cottage and it was as wonderful as the first. The cleanliness, the amenities and location makes for a perfect summer getaway. We’re hoping to return again as this place would be hard to beat.

Lots of amenities both inside and out to keep everyone active like canoe and kayaks and hot tub to plenty of games in the game room for everyone to enjoy and not to mention all the TV sets to keep little ones amused if outside weather doesn’t cooperate. Also sandy beach was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend this place.

This cottage was everything you could ask for and more. It far exceeded our expectations and everyone had the best time. It was super stocked and it was even so cool to find hidden rooms (secret nursery on the top floor???) that were so thoughtfully designed. I hope we can come back every year!

My family and I stayed at Donna's beautiful cottage September 17-24 and we had a fabulous time. It was relaxing and peacful and the boys had a blast. They did not want to leave! In fact nobody wanted to leave. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. So much care has been taken in ensuring that everything a guest may need is available. Loved the stay and we will definatley be back!
