The only issues we had were mechanical. The septic tank overflowed the first day and needed a pump out. We couldn’t shower, do laundry or run dish washer until tended to. There was a leak in one bathroom and we couldn’t use that bathroom - I A couple fans didn’t work so that was I comfortable. All things considered, we liked the cottage a lot and would rent again. Please contact us for next year

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:

Thanks for your review! Due to torrential rain fall during your stay, the septic system was oversaturated and could not keep up with demand. A huge thanks to Haliburton Septic Pumping who were able to come out and pump septic on the same day that the issue was reported.

The cottage was beautiful and had plenty of room. It also has anything you need in a kitchen, all utensils, small appliances, plates etc. The only thing we can suggest is to have the paddle boat in the water instead of us having to carry it down to the docks. Also the cushions for the chairs where all over the place. We had to try and did them. They should be placed on the chairs for your guests. And the dining table where the BBQ is feels like it’s going to fall down any second. The centre support is missing. The above is just minor though. Our experience was great we truly had a great time. We would definitely go back. Thank you.

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:

Thanks for your review, we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As a quick note to future guests, the outdoor cushions for dockside chairs and loungers are stored in the brown storage bins under the deck to ensure they remain dry and ready for guest use. Cushions for deck seating are stored in the Haliburton room for the same reason.

Amazing Cottage for Quiet Family Getaway

Overall the cottage and property are wonderful. We had 4 children between the ages of 4 and 10 and there was something for everyone. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms lovely. The lake was shallow enough off the dock for the children to be able to play in the water. There was a lot of moss as to be expected at this time of year and we would strongly recommend water shoes. Biggest downside of the dock was the lack of steps to get in and out of the water which was super challenging for everyone. Canoes, paddle board and paddle boat were awesome, you do need to take children's life jackets. Kitchen was well stocked with kitchen needs. Storage space was tight for a week's worth of food for a group of 9 but we made it work. Dishwasher is a lifesaver. BBQ and pizza over were fun, if you use the pizza oven, you need to take your own tools (pizza peel, etc). Screened in porch was one of the highlights; we used it daily for dining and in the rain for crafts and reading. The bunkie was great however the bathroom is much smaller than the main house bathrooms and a bar fridge would have been a welcome addition especially with the coffee station out there. We had a tonne of fun and will definitely be back!

My family of 4 (two kids 11 & 13) had an amazing long weekend. While there was still ice on the lake and some cooler weather, we enjoyed everything the cottage had to offer - the hottub, sauna, firepit, and fireplace. The cottage is gorgeously decorated and comfortable. I would love to go back during summer weather!

We went there for a week with 3 kids. The bunkie was just perfect for the kids. It felt like their own little club house! As soon as you walk in they provide sanitizer and a booklet of everything you need to know from wifi password to water activities. Kitchen was our favourite area - open concept with lake view and plenty of utensils/pots/pans for all your cooking. Basement was where the kids hung out most of the time, more than enough room for them to play. Extremely clean overall and I would highly recommend to everyone. Definitely going back! Thanks!

The Opposite of City Life!

Cottage location is remote and quiet which is a welcome change from city life, yet amenities are plentiful including boats, a hot tub, sauna, indoor fireplaces, and outdoor fire pit. Outdoor deck is huge allowing varying configurations of seating in both sun and shade. Cottage interior is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and washrooms with upscale rustic finishes. The Bunkie allowed additional sleeping so everyone could have their privacy. Our chef (yes we had a chef in our group) appreciated the induction cook top allowing for precision cooking. During our stay the dishwasher and outdoor fire table were not operational. Smoker deserved a good clean out therefore was not used and cleanliness of BBQ was left is better condition then it was found. All life jackets and most outdoor chair cushions were found wet which took a good day in the sun to dry out. The “high speed” internet was adequate on all but our last day which was too slow to use. If you like a remote and quiet outdoor setting without roughing it, this is the place for you.

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:

Thanks for your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at the cottage. We apologize for the inconvenience of not having the dishwasher during your stay. As mentioned prior to your stay, the pump died just before your arrival and required replacement. It has since been replaced and is fully operational again. We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience!

Cottage was super clean and well stocked with appliances and cookware if you like to cook! Outdoor hot tub and sauna are the best. Grounds are beautiful- trees, lovely. Appliances are top shelf but tricky to use. Property manager quickly answered all questions. Water level is a problem for swimming. Mash around dock is good for wildlife viewing.

Magical weekend!

We had a fantastic weekend at Plan B! The place is absolutely beautiful. Check-in was easy, and all the documentation was extremely helpful. The cottage was super clean, and since we had a winter stay, the pathways and driveway were all shovelled and we had no issue getting in. We had no issues with our SUV on the cottage roads, but definitely recommend it for anyone coming for a winter stay (which they also recommend). We got a dumping of snow while we were there, but our driveway got plowed before checkout which was really nice! The sauna didn't work while we were there which was a shame, but it was really cold so I think it just didn't have the ability to heat up well enough. The hot tub was great, but the air intake kept freezing for the jets to work properly, again, I don't think this is the fault of the owners, it was just super cold and these things happen. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need for cooking, which was fantastic as we love to cook. Bedrooms and all living spaces were clean and are gorgeous. The heated floors in the bathrooms are a game changer for the winter! The base heating and the wood stove in the living room had us toasty and warm during our stay. We really couldn't have had a better weekend, and am already planning on booking a summer stay with the family! 10/10 would recommend and stay there again! Thank you Shannon and All-Season Cottage Rentals!

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your weekend! A couple quick tips for the benefit of future guests: - Close the air vent on the wall of sauna, and turn heat up to 9 and it will heat up quite well. If it does not warm up, turn off timer and hit the little blue reset button located by sauna controls, then turn timer back on. - If the air vent on the hot tub freezes, cup some water from hot tub in your hand and dump on air vent. A couple handfuls of hot water should be enough to release the valve if frozen.

We loved staying at the Colin and Justin Cottage for a week. We had some friends up and the bunkie is awesome for hosting. The property has lots of games etc in case it rains and the waterfront is very nice to sit down and chill at. The kids caught lots of small fish from the dock. We would like to return again. Cheers !
