- Fire pit was very nice
- Hot tub was clean and worked amazingly
- Newer TV allowed us to stream
- Washer and dryer were nice to have
- Stairs down to the dock are steep, but our dog loved them
Cons

- Main bedrooms had double beds, felt a bit small for us

Lovely small cottage with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of places to sit, both in and out of the sun, to chat or read or enjoy the view, including the hot tub which was great for the chilly mornings we had. We also canoed around the top of the lake to view everyone else’s cottages. Inside, the two sitting areas gave us lots of space to spread out and I enjoyed doing my online Pilates using the big screen tv.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Country Pines. Aptly named as you view the cottage from the lake. They surround the cottage and give it a wonderful rustic appearance. The water was clear and warm for swimming. The loons visited daily. We loved spending time on the dock and deck relaxing. The use of the water toys was also a nice addition as it allows you to paddle around the lake. Eagle lake country store was a gem with a fantastic bakery and fully stocked so we did not have to go to Haliburton for our groceries. The kitchen was well appointed for all our cooking. We treated ourselves one night and enjoyed wood oven pizza from the local Into the Blue Bakery which was great. Lots of wood for the outdoor fire pit and a quick dip in the hot tub completed our days. We appreciated the perfect weather that was arranged for us all week as well!!!

We have rented several different cottages for the past six years. By far, Peter and Gail are the most thoughtful owners we’ve had the pleasure of renting from. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage is clean, open and bright. It has a beautiful view of the lake from both inside and the back deck where we enjoyed most of our meals. The cottage is well-stocked with everything you may need along with ample cupboard space to store groceries. The lake bottom is hard sand without any soft mushy spots. There are few rocks and the water is clear allowing you to easily see the bottom of the lake. Our five year old daughter loved playing in the sand which Gail graciously gave us access too. We spent the entire week at the cottage playing yard games in the front and swimming the rest of the day. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent this cottage again.

We absolutely loved our time at the Country Pines. We didn't think we would use the hot tub but we did every day! The kayak, canoe and paddleboat were well used. It was very nice of the owners to let us use the beach next door. The kitchen layout is perfect! The only criticism we would have is that the website listed a Queen, a Double and two Singles for beds. When we arrived we found two doubles, which was two small for my wife and I. If there was a bigger bed we would return every year.

We had a fun time. The cottage was equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The owners left us a sweet basket in the fridge with wine and a smores kit among a few other things. There were water toys for enjoyment and easy access into the water from the dock and steps into the lake. The cottage has space for the 6 of us and was a very lovely cottage. Owners were very friendly dog and nice. Recommend!

Lovely location. We enjoyed ourselves totally! I was teaching for two weeks at HSAD. Enjoyed the 45 min drive to and from cottage to the school.
Would like to rent again next year . Not sure of the dates I will be teaching yet, but works like to keep in touch.

Our family had an awesome stay at this cottage! Great waterfront for younger children. Was very comfortable and private place. Grandkids loved the use of the paddlboat! Very close to town and other excursions! Dock needs to have some nails hammered in, otherwise it was a fabulous place to holiday!
