We booked Driftwood for a girl's long weekend and everything about it was wonderful! The location was incredibly private and absolutely breathtaking. The cottage managed to be spacious and cozy all at the same time. The kitchen was well stocked, the coffee bar had absolutely everything (ice machine, Margarita machine, wine fridge, fridge drawers) - we did not want for anything. All of the beds were comfortable and having a full bathroom on each floor made getting ready in the morning very easy. The hot tub stayed hot and was very clean.
The owners graciously offered to put the docks in and the kayaks out prior to our mid April arrival which was not expected but incredibly appreciated. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Many thanks to Chris and his family for allowing our family to use their beautiful cottage. All of the amenities in and around the cottage were great and the floating raft was a real hit with our grandson.
We have rented a few cottages on kinesis lake and this was definately the best.
We look forward to returning next year.

Our family of 6 adults and 1 dog were very comfortable at Driftwood Cove. It's both cozy and spacious at the same time and being located on 15 acres, makes this cottage very private and peaceful.
It was a great base for hiking and exploring local trails, particularly in the nearby Haliburton Forest.
What really sets this cottage apart is the attention to detail, cozy quilts on all the comfortable beds, very comfortable sofas and chairs, a large enough dining table to have a puzzle on the go as well as room for 6 diners, charming coffee and wine bar alcove, protected hot tub from which one can enjoy watching a deluge of rain. A washroom on each floor - very nice! And the kitchen had everything we needed - including space - for 6 cooks to create gourmet suppers. Plus, lots of indoor and outdoor games - we enjoyed them all.
We happened to be there during a new moon, so stargazing was spectacular from the dock with the small firepit going.
For nature lovers, the kayaks and canoe offered a peaceful way to explore the water and spot local birds. And, on one lucky day we spied a family of moose making its way through the forest. For those who appreciate tech more, the internet speed is very good as is the wifi signal throughout the cottage. The large desk on the upper floor is great for doing work, but at the same time, remaining a part of the conversation.
I can imagine this location is spectacular during the fall and winter and must be extra cozy with the pellet stove and fireplace.
We would love to return.

Driftwood Cove is a beautiful, spacious cottage that still manages to provides a cozy atmosphere throughout its multiple intimidate and social settings. The cottage includes a seemingly unlimited number of activities for all ages and allows for great fun to be had indoors, outdoors, and out on the water. The cottage and property provide a perfectly relaxing and tranquil escape from the city without having to give up the comforts of home, and all for a very reasonable price. 10/10 highly recommend.

The cottage itself was lovely, just the right balance between kick-back comfort and high end amenities. However, the location was a little too remote for our family. Access to grocery stores required at least a 30 minute drive. We were also disappointed that the waterfront was quite weedy and that there were significant goose droppings all over the area between the cottage and lake. When we contacted the management company, we were advised to rake the droppings into the woods. We were not prepared to spend our vacation doing property maintenance. We feel that someone should have been sent to clean up the lakefront.

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:
Thanks for taking the time to share your review. Yes, the cottage is way around the top side of Kennisis Lake, almost at the end of the road, bordering the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve. If you carry on to the end of the road, you have direct access to the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails with endless paddling opportunities down the Kennisis River into Red Pine Lake and beyond. The closest store is in West Guilford, which is about 30 minutes from the cottage, so you certainly want to come prepared in term of groceries/supplies. The cottage has approximately 1,800 feet of water frontage. The water is clean and clear in beach area and off the end of the dock, but does get weedy as you go further into the bay (a great spot to fish or to see Moose!). Unfortunately, as with any property on the lake with lawn and beach shoreline, Geese can be an issue. The property is cleared of Goose droppings between groups, but it is up to the guests to maintain during their stay. Staff does not attend daily to clean lawn and waterfront. Generally speaking, while people are around the Geese will stay away, but if there is no one around they can make a mess pretty quickly. This is a common issue for any waterfront property with shallow access and a lawn area. I hope this info is helpful for the benefit of future guests in determining if the cottage is a good fit for your family.

We Just completed our second rental of Driftwood Cove over the winter holidays. Our family has two teenagers. We enjoyed how private the location was. The view across the bay is stunning with no cottages. Our family enjoyed playing the games that Driftwood Cove supplied and going on winter hikes throughout the area. Driftwood Cove has a beautiful stone fireplace in the common area for wood burning. I noticed the beautiful carpets placed throughout the cottage. There were also plenty of warm colourful quilts and afghan blankets placed in the common areas and bedrooms. The wifi was excellent and there was no complaints from the teens. We would definately rent again! Thank you Driftwood Cove.

This cottage has everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. The kids spent most of the time at the large dock playing in the water on the lily pad and water trampoline. Dock also had a large umbrella which was great!
Cottage is very spacious yet cozy at the same time. It was a very comfortable place and we will likely book again.

We had the best time at Driftwood Cove. The cottage is so beautiful with lots of space for people to hang out in and not feel on top of each other. The beds were comfy and clean and the kitchen had everything you could want.
The lake is beautiful and so quiet, a great place to swim and go for a paddle. Would definitely come back!
