Very spacious, well-equipped cottage on quiet waterway between Drag Lake and Spruce Lake. Large screened room off kitchen, beautifully landscaped yard, stone fire pit area, large dock with lots of seating, stone steps at water entrance. Great spot for our family vacation, something for everyone.

This was a lovely cottage, well equipped with ample space for everything you might want to do indoors and out. The muskoka room was my favourite of the house but the master bedroom cam e a close second with the ample windows and cross breezes and oversized bathroom. The kitchen and pattern were well equipped and made food prep. very easy and enjoyable and we were not wanting for any equipment or dishware. The only complaint unfortunately dealt with one of the most important aspects of a cottage stay....swimming. This cottage is on a wide channel between drag lake and spruce lake but it is shallow, maybe 4-5' deep and the water around the dock was full of logs and stumps making diving and swimming challenging. Years of leaf litter and other debris in the water gave the bottom a squishy consistency that was unpleasant to walk through. Since there was no ladder off the dock you have no choice but to wade through this muck to swim in chest deep water. Really too bad, it took away from the fun of diving and swimming off the dock. Location was otherwise very good and Haliburton was very close by.

Beautiful cottage for non-swimmers/boaters

This cottage is beautifully designed and decorated with lots of room for guests and has a well equipped kitchen. The Muskoka room is lovely. The landscaping is also gorgeous. It has a nice large dock and three kayaks and a canoe too. It is not the best location if you love swimming and boating. We had hoped to rent a boat but after discovering this section of the lake was actually created when a forest was flooded and many of the tall tree stumps are still there, close to water level, we decided that would be a very risky endeavor. The lake was about 3 feet deep off the end of the dock when we were there with a very mucky, silty bottom. There also isn't a swimming ladder off the dock but this is probably because the water level is too low for one to reach. Water shoes are a must as there are felled tree stumps and branches that reach the surface of the water even in the deepest section in the centre of the channel. It was tricky walking into the water from the small sandy beach as the "firm sand/rock bottom" only extends about three feet and then you start to sink ankle deep into the silt. There are several logs to step over and it's a bit of a walk in before you reach a depth of water you can swim in. There is NOT "deep water swimming off the dock". The beautiful master bedroom, master washroom and lovely lake facing bedroom on the main floor could all use some window coverings for guests who don't like to wake with the sun and like some privacy when they get out of the shower. Bedroom #5 in the basement does not have a window at all. The loft has a queen bed and not two twin beds as listed. Windows were all covered in spider webs and could use a good seasonal clean. Great location for those that want to just sit by the water.

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:

When we have a dry summer, the water from our lakes gets re-directed into the Trent Severn Waterways to support the canal system. It isn't typical for the water levels to get this low in August but we had a dry summer this year.

Spacious, executive accommodation perfect for adults and teens.

Clean, comfortable well appointed executive lake front home. Great for a family of adults or teens wanting to bond and get away from city stress while still being able to check into the office for video conferencing or calls. Friendly, responsive hosts. Thank you for a wonderful two weeks.
