The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the new mattresses, the toys, the spices, the Wi-Fi and Netflix. Beautiful dock and sandy beach. The downside for us were the stairs and the proximity of the neighbours but the trade off was the beauty of it. You are nestled in the deep woods, We enjoyed walking the dog on the road once we got up the steep hill! We saw deer, and many species of birds. We would rent again.

This cottage was the perfect fit for our family. I liked location of the fire pit too. We used it most nights. One person who needed to work did so from the bunkie.

Cozy cottage nestled on Drag Lake (Outlet Bay). Had everything our little family of 4 could ask for, including a lilypad for the kids to play on in the water and kayaks to tour around in. Busier on the weekends, but the week was incredibly quiet, with only the sounds of the loons and water lapping against the dock. Despite the fans, the cottage was very hot during the heatwave with no blinds in the living area to shield it from the sun. Thankfully, it was only temporary and the water was perfect for swimming in, but something to consider if you hate the heat. Overall, we had a great time and hope to return next year.

We loved our stay at Highland Hideaway! The cottage was the perfect size for our small family. The ceilings fans were a huge bonus since we went during a very hot week in July. The kitchen was equipped with all of the basics though a few more bowls and spoons would be helpful. The multiple decks were a pleasure to relax on and eat our meals outdoors. The dock area was fabulous- so many watercraft to use and the floating may was a huge hit with our kids. We loved that this cottage was in between lakes so we had a lot to explore by kayak, but also a nice quiet area to swim. This cottage is also a short drive to Halliburton making it convenient to pick up groceries and odds and ends as needed.

Had a lovely week at this newly renovated cottage. Outdoor amenities were fantastic (kayaks, SUPs, floating devices). Large windows allow for exceptional views of the lake.

This little cottage was perfect for the four of us. There's tons of well maintained outside space, multiple decks, ample seating areas, a great big dock, umbrellas for the sun, great kayaks. Every aspect of the cottage was clean, felt almost new and very well-maintained. I think the best of it is the part of the lake its on. It's a thin-ish channel (maybe 500 feet across) that everyone who travels it by boat does so slowly. It means the outside of the cottage is calm, quiet and the water is inviting. There's no water-skiers, no-one ripping around all day. I've never rented on a quieter spot. The swimming is excellent (diving possible off the dock) and the cottage is well-appointed with everything you might want from the dock to the well-appointed kitchen. A great place that we hope to return to again.

Thank you for your review. We really appreciate it.

We had a fabulous week at the cottage. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The lake was crystal clear and just the right temperature. It was a super hot week so we spent most of our time on the dock and in the water. The cottage had ceiling fans so sleeping was very comfortable at night. Everything was there that you need. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming. My grandson had a blast. It was a lovely week. We would definitely rent again.

The cottage is cute and well appointed. The dock area provides ample Muskoka chairs, Pelican kayaks and paddle boards. The property, inside and out was very clean when we arrived. My only complaint is that the floors, although appearing clean, were not (our grandson ended up with dirty hands and feet after crawling around). The kitchen is very workable and most necessities are provided. The bedrooms are a lot smaller than featured on the website and the louvre doors are not practical in dulling the sounds of a crying baby at night. The cottage is conveniently located 15 minutes from the town of Haliburton. I recommend this cottage to a small group of people as storage space is quite limited.

Five of us spent a week at this cottage mid September. It's tiny but pretty perfect. We thought one bathroom would be a challenge but it worked out fine. The beds were comfortable and it was so quiet we all slept well. Having paddle boards and kayaks was especially great - we used them a lot. The lake is very shallow - not more than four feet in most places, so not really a swimming lake except for little kids but sitting on the dock for hours listening to music was a summertime experience even though we were late in the season. We would go back and hope to next summer.

All-Season Cottage Rentals' Response:
Thanks for your review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time at the cottage. As a quick point of clarification on water depth, the vast majority of lakes in the Haliburton area are reservoir lakes for the Trent Severn Water System. Lakes hold snow run off in the Spring, so water levels are higher in the earlier part of the season. Water levels start to recede early to mid August and are at their lowest in the Fall. On average, the depth of Drag Lake drops by about 6' from high levels in the Spring to low levels in the Fall. While Drag Lake is an extremely deep lake, this particular cottage is located in an area called Outlet Bay, which is more shallow than the main section of the lake. During June, the water is close to 10' deep in front of the cottage. By mid-August, the water is usually around 7' deep in front of the cottage. And by mid-September, the water is usually around 4' deep in front of the cottage. This is consistent with most lakes in our area. If you ever hear someone refer to August and September as beach season, this is why. Earlier in the season most beaches are under water and by August they slowly start to appear as water levels recede.
