Just loved this cottage. The owners obviously take pride in it and worked tirelessly to prepare it for us. Everything you would ever need was there. Tastefully decorated with quality furnishings. Really comfy beds and pillows were welcoming at the end of the day. Great kitchen and a quality BBQ made it a delight to cook. There was even pot of fresh herbs on the deck! My kind of cottage. Not too big and not too pretentious. A little piece of heaven in the woods.

Lonesome Pine has easy access -- both a draw and a disadvantage -- as you can hear the mostly soft sounds of the nearby highway. We appreciated its just-built, yet homey feel -- with a very well-equipped kitchen and other advantages. Just a short walk to a cafe with yummy treats, or to the local fish & chips shop (serving Kawartha cones too). Obvious care to details offered by the owners, such as a lovely garden, nice deck, fire pit, swimming raft. We would have appreciated the supply of a canoe to improve our use of the lake. A hiker's delight with at least 5 trails a short drive away. About equal distance to Dorset or Minden for supplies or a meal.
