This eccentric 2 bedroom (plus Bunkie), 1 washroom cottage located on a quiet river is the ideal retreat for those searching for a meditative and peaceful getaway. Perfect for a writer, artist or academic. This cottage is a special place with a magical view in any season. The main cottage features two bedrooms, both of which are upstairs. The main floor consists of kitchen/dining room, living room, washroom and screened porch. Just steps away from the cottage is a one bedroom Bunkie/ writers retreat. The cottage lot is flat with large lawn on road side and slopes towards the river to a lower flat section. The water is fairly shallow in the river so it is not ideal for swimming, however, it is great for a leisurely paddle. There is a great public beach just a few minutes down the road. The cottage is also within walking distance to the historic Hawk Lake Log Chute, as well as incredible hiking/snowshoeing trails.

There was no charcoal barbecue noticeable we looked and found one in shed but the bottom was rusted. Luckily we brought a gas BBQ. The listing needs to be changed.
I felt the price for a long weekend was high.
The location was nice as well as private.
The cottage had too many personal items which leave few spaces to place your items.
The code to get into lockbox didn’t work but the guys at Haliburton cottages came through quickly and efficiently on a Friday of the long weekend, very impressed .
