Redstone Lake cottaging at it's best! This 4 bedroom, 3 washroom cottage is located on the prestigious Little Redstone Lake and is only minutes away from the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, Wolf Center and Walk in the clouds canopy tour. The cottage boasts Southern exposure and is located on a 5.5 acre lot with almost 500' of private water frontage, including a dock on a southwesterly facing point which catches sun well into the evening all summer long. You will be welcomed to the cottage by beautiful English gardens full of Butterflys and Hummingbirds. Down by the lake you will find a sand/gravel beach (from about mid August) and three different docks . One is used for docking boats and watercrafts, one is on the sand beach for sunbathing etc, and the third is on the far east side of the property on the inside reach of a southwesterly facing point, ideal for afternoon/evening sunset cocktails. The exact configurations of the docks, and the furnishings on them , may change from time to time depending on weather conditions and lake water levels, but they will not change location and will always be inviting and comfortably maintained for your enjoyment! Access to the water for swimming is gradual from the south facing sand beach. Enjoy an evening campfire just off the beach, and explore paths from the cottage through mature forest to the adjacent lot also owned by the cottage owners, where you will find the third dock that faces southwest and which gets wonderful sunset views. The cottage itself is very well equipped , updated and comfortable with approximately 3,200 sq. ft of living space, a wonderful sunroom and inviting wood stove in the living room. The chef in the family will appreciate the very well stocked, modern and spacious kitchen. Downstairs is a den with transitional day bed, large TV and DVD. Other highlights include unlimited internet, a brand new large fridge in the kitchen, an extra fridge in the pantry, comfy new mattresses on the king and queen size beds, a large canoe and 2 kayaks.

The three generations of our family really enjoyed our stay at Sunshine Point. The cottage itself is lovely and very comfortable. We were able to spend lots of time together, while, at the same time, any of us could retreat to the sun room or to the lower level den for some privacy. The forest setting added to the beauty of the place, as did the garden at the front. Access to the lake was easy and the relatively shallow water off the dock was welcome, so that the adults were well anchored while helping the little ones swim. Being able to enjoy a canoe and kayaks was a bonus. All in all, this cottage provided us with all the ingredients for an enjoyable week.

The pictures hardly do this wonderful cottage justice – it is a fantastic place to stay. There is tons of space that is well thought-out and utilized in a very classic and deliberate manner. One of the most striking features is walking into the cottage to the smell of fresh and beautiful cedar – the wood-covered walls are rewarding for how much ambience they add to the already incredible cottage. This is a special place and our group thoroughly enjoyed every moment here.
The weather did not cooperate with us and during our somewhat short stay, a full day was spent inside due to rain and thunderstorms. We weren't too fussed because we stayed comfortable and warm inside this absolutely beautiful cottage, playing games and enjoying the super comfortable couch selection. There are lots of places for the group to splinter off so that different people can enjoy different things at different times. There are THREE docks, though we primarily situated ourselves on the dock furthest from the cottage since that dock gets the most daylight before the sun tucks behind the trees at around 730pm (in June, so during some of the longer days of the year). The fire pit is surrounded by benches and is close to the water, and the barbecue was a joy to work with on account of it being nicely cleaned and quite large.
I rated the "privacy" as "very good" instead of "excellent" only because there are other cottages visible in the area, which is not something you can avoid if you're staying on Little Redstone Lake. The lake is super clean, though! The water is clear and perfect, and the kayaks and canoe available at the cottage are super fun because they have all the right gear (paddles, lifejackets, etc.) readily available.
I strongly recommend this cottage as a safe, comfortable, warm, inviting, and delightful place to spend time with loved ones. It brought us excellent memories as the first place we stayed after being fully vaccinated and we will never forget this special place – and hope to visit again next year! Thank you to the owners for being quick to respond and helpful if we needed a hand with anything, this is a very well-run and exciting place to stay.

This cottage is a dream for any family looking to enjoy gorgeous Lake Redstone. This beautifully appointed cottage is situated on a quiet picturesque lake. It's free from the bustle of heavily trafficked cottage country yet comes with all the comforts of the city. In particular, the bird garden off of the screened in room is delightful, drawing a plethora of birds throughout the day. The kitchen is well set up for big meals and the dining room is nestled in a forest of trees. This is an excellent place to get away from urban noise to unplug in a natural and comfortable setting.

We had a great stay, large cottage, nicely tucked away, beautiful lake front, 3 docks were fun, Canoe & Kayak were perfect. Nicely outfitted kitchen, lots of room to spread out.
Had a wonderful time, thanks and hopefully we can come back next year.
