Taylor's Lake House, South Lake

Taylor Lake Cottage exceeded our expectations! We loved the sunroom - had our lunch there every day. The Queen bed was very comfortable, kitchen well equipped and my husband loved the Roku, as we could stream our favourites. The dock was a lovely spot to sit and view the loons and soak up the sun. Great chairs! The swimming was great and we each enjoyed the kayak (wish there were 2 so we could go together). We lucked onto a week where most of the neighbouring cottages were vacant, so privacy was super. Our little dog loved running up and down the slight incline between the cottage and waterfront. All and all, my husband and I had a fabulous holiday.

The day we arrived was sunny - but it was gone in an hour and it was hit and miss all week. This cottage was comfortable , kayak and paddle board were used a lot. The Muskoka chairs by the water was amazing . I am so glad they just put the dock up as I have looked at this place a couple of times . The kitchen is tiny and the cupboard could use handles- the fridge is extremely tiny. So glad they had a drink fridge in the back. There is really no where to put extra food (dry) items . My suggestion is that they fix the kitchen - lots of Space for an upgrade! Have an area for the our dry food shelf . Although we only had 3 of us - I always like to bring prepared food so I don’t have to cook - makes it easier. The Sandy shore was awesome made it easier on me to get in . We visited Bracebridge, haliburton, minden - great little towns to check out. Kawartha ice cream- horseshoe lake. . Beds were comfortable. We watched a movie and had fires - great week.

This was our second year in a row renting this cottage. We love the cottage. It’s small it spacious and perfect and has everything we needed. Owners did some upgrades to furniture from last year too! Shallow entry for young kids and great dock for jumping off of! Kitchen has a new fridge, a bit smaller than previous one but they added a large “mini fridge” in the back so that was perfect for the drinks!!!

A wonderful cottage with a great property. It has everything you need. The A/C was much appreciated since our stay was during a heat wave. The swimming was great and we enjoyed the new dock. I would definitely cottage here again.

My family had a great stay at Taylor's Lake house in July 2021. The cottage is simple, but very clean and the owners we felt went above and beyond to ensure a great stay was to be experienced. For families with young ones the sand beach front and new dock make for an enjoyable waterfront experience. Good privacy and excellent location on the lake. While there are weeds in the water they don't appear until you are 25-30 feet in the water from the shore. Still good swimming off the dock and nice shallow and sandy entry for young kids and toddlers. An added bonus was the pet friendly designation so we could bring our dogs.
