Buttermilk Falls

Located just north of Carnarvon,Buttermilk Falls offers a unique blend of history and natural beauty. This waterfall was originally used as a log chute to transport logs down the river to the sawmill in Minden. Although no longer a log chute, you can still see the cement wall that guides the water towards a scenic flat rock section. Bring snacks and enjoy a picnic together by the waterfall! 

Furnace Falls

Furnace Falls may only be a few meters tall, but this small waterfall in Minden is a wonderful place to experience the natural beauty of the Haliburton Highlands. Watch the gentle cascades from the rocks, or visit in the summer and take a dip in the swimming hole below the last ledge. 

Ritchie Falls

Ritchie Falls is a small waterfall easily accessible from Haliburton along Ritchie Falls Road in Minden Hills. Plan a bike ride along the Haliburton County Rail Trail and take a break at this waterfall, which is steps away from the trail. 

Ragged Falls

Ragged Falls is the highest waterfall in the Haliburton Highlands, located just west of Algonquin Park. Hike the short trail from the parking lot to access the scenic lookout point. Or hike along the Oxtongue River to see the waterfall in all its glory. 

High Falls

High Falls is a beautiful 6m waterfall located at the southern panhandle of Algonquin Park. Access the hiking trail from the parking area and walk through hardwood forests and the York River to get to the waterfall. This waterfall is a popular swimming hole in the summertime.
