As the heat of summer shifts to a cool autumn breeze in Ontario, celebrating this short season may already be on your mind. During fall, the forest canopy of the Haliburton Highlands transforms into a sea of crimson, orange, and yellow. One of our favorite ways to witness the splendor of fall colours in this region is by riding on the network of ATV trails. With trails through lush forests and over 600 lakes and rivers, exploration is endless. The Haliburton ATV Association or the HATVA manages the most extensive system of trails in Ontario, with 1,700 kilometres of trails. Ride the Haliburton ATV trails and take in the crisp autumn air as you enjoy the majesty of fall colours. Our vacation rentals at All Season Cottage Rentals Inc are the ideal place to access ATV trails and unwind at the end of the day. So, come and experience autumn in the Haliburton Highlands on an exhilarating ATV expedition.
What to Know Before You Go
The trails are open to everyone when you purchase a one-week, two-day, or one-day trail pass. We recommend purchasing an official trail maps book here, so you will be familiar with the trails before you go. Most importantly, remember to stay safe by wearing a helmet, riding with a friend, and carrying a map or GPS. Explore the HATVA trails and discover why thousands of people come to Haliburton each year to ride this network of trails.
Haliburton ATV Trails
One of the most popular ATVing trails in Haliburton is the County Rail Trail. This trail extends over 35 kilometres. This rail-trail map shows access points from county roads and the sites you can visit along the way. The trails here are open to ATVs through the end of November when you purchase a HATVA pass. These trails feature scenery of rivers, waterfalls, bogs, and heritage bridges. We ask that anyone riding the rail trails practice social distancing and keep your groups under ten people. The County Rail Trail is only one exciting trail system to explore in Haliburton. Again you can access information about the HATVA trails by purchasing the official trail map book.
