If you love suntanning and water activities, this is the perfect cottage for you. There are two levels of decks with stairs leading to a massive dock. A variety of watercraft are supplied. The sand beach is ideal for toddlers. A hot tub on the top deck provides a spectacular view of the lake. All decks are comfortably furnished. The cottage is equipped for families with young children, providing a high chair, booster seat, play pen, and pac'n'play plus a selection of toys.

Beautiful cottage and lakefront.

Cottage was lovely, lake and dock were fantastic, we enjoyed our stay mostly, rough sleeping during the extreme heat warning. With the ongoing extreme weather, heat warning etc. A few large floor fans or a portable AC unit would be very much appreciated, traveling from 6 hours away we cannot add large fans to our packing in our car. Adding some kind of blinds to large bay windows might help with heat control as well. Otherwise, a beautiful cottage , and a lovely family vacation.Â

Stunning lakeviews and extensive patios made our stay very enjoyable

The inside facilities including the beautiful kitchen, the bedroom locations and the sitting room made it enjoyable to relax, cook, dine and socialize as a family. We were especially pleased to find the two drink fridges which maximized our ability to store food in the fridge The outdoor facilities lived up to the listing, allowing us all to really enjoy the outdoors. It appears that the owners are working on some improvements. Hopefully, one of these is to include covering the space at the bottom of the steps leading to the lake. Unfortunately, John had a nasty fall navigating the uneven ground one evening. Perhaps due to the power outage, we found the sitting room not to have been cleaned as well as one would have liked. Extensive dust and spiderwebs were found as were crumbs under the cushions of the sofa and chairs. We tried our best to leave the home cleaner than we found it for the next guests. Overall, the owners are lucky to have such a gem.

Checked all the boxes!
Beautiful Haliburton never disappoints. All Season Rentals staff are exceptional. Look no further if you are looking to rent in Haliburton. They know this area because they live here and offer top notch service for very reasonable fees. Bright Sun Escape offers the complete package. We can't think of anything that's missing. The big dock is our favourite feature. And the marina just minutes away - with ice cream, food truck, music and pickle ball is a close second.

Perfect setting for a family holiday.
This was the second time we stayed .This year was just a fantastic as last year. Is very well equipped (dishes, pots, etc.)The view from upper deck and living room, dining area, breath taking. Hot tub, such a bonus. When there we like to go into Dorset and eat by the water, not far from the huge general, gift store. Makes for a nice outing. Very easy to get a hold of the owner, or person in charge. All in all, wonderful time was had. Our son, daughter in-law, daughter and 3 yr old granddaughter love going to this cottage.

Best Week of the Summer!
This was our second time visiting Bright Sun Escape and we all agreed it was the best week of the summer. The cottage is clean and spacious with everything our family of four could need. The marina is an easy walk for supplies, ice cream and the new pickle ball courts. The kids loved swimming off the dock and playing on the Lily pad and exploring in the paddle boat.The view from the hot tub can't be beat! We really recommend visiting the Wolf Centre especially the evening Wolf Howl walk. I hope we can visit again next summer and continue the tradition.

Dream panoramic balcony view!

A slice of heaven - breathtaking views, a beautiful cottage and the most peaceful lake

We brought the whole family together for our first visit to Kennisis Lake and we were wowed! What a beautiful and peaceful lake, stunning landscapes from the deck, dock and boat. Some great hiking trails, and we had fun visiting the wolf sanctuary nearby. The Saucy Pig restaurant was a fun treat and - don't worry - we were at the Marina every day for ice cream! A 5-minute walk to ice cream is more than we could've ever asked for. The cottage was beautiful and so clean - you can immediately tell that it's well taken care of. It was a little colder than anticipated so we made good use of the hot tub, overlooking the quiet lake. We even saw a few loons! The kayaks, paddle boat, paddleboard and lilly pad were all enjoyed during the week and there was no shortage of fun activities. Even the babies loved going for a dip in the water off the private beach! Fires at the fire pit were great, too - it's private and surrounded by trees and conveniently close to the cottage if you need to grab extra marshmallows! This is a great cottage and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with lots of fun things to do.

Fantastic stay again
This is our 3rd time at Bright Sun Escape and it never disappoints. They have absolutely everything available at this cottage. The lake water is great, the addition of the water slide and water mat were great for the kids and hot tub is always an added bonus. We hope to definitely come back again. Greg

We loved the cottage!! Very clean, comfortable and with all the emenities you would want. The patio and dock were both great places to hang out, the lake is gorgeous and the water toys supplied were all in great shape. We would definately book this cottage again!!!!

One of my favorites!
I have a crew of 8 that usually camp or cottage together.The pictures advertising the cottage are accurate....the place was fantastic. Great water activites and a couple of areas to play games, which were available.We spent a lot of time in the kitchen together as it was so spacious...8 of us could sit comfortably while 1 or 2 tended tondrinks or cooking.The doc is in incredible shape and easy to get in and out of the water with good plastic wide ladder. Dock fishing didn't yield any catches so be sure to canoe out across the lake for a catch.The firepit has seats but for best comfort bring your own camping fold up chairs.We hope to go back next year!

Clean, Comfortable, Beautiful

We rented the cottage for a long weekend to escape from the city/our husbands/our children and had the most amazing time. The cottage was spotless on arrival and the kitchen was very well equipped , allowing us to settle in and start relaxing! The water views were incredible, and the deck was inviting and large. The hot tub overlooking the lake was the ultimate place to spend time.I cannot think of a single thing about the cottage I would recommend changing - it truly was an incredible Escape.

Spacious with great view
This cottage is nothing short of spectacular, with a view to match. The owners have literally thought of everything you could possibly need and more. A real homey feeling, with a goal to relax and enjoy the outdoors. My family had an amazing stay and left in full agreement that we needed to go back. An Absolute Gem!

What a lovely cottage this was to stay at - it was such a pleasure! The cottage is perched above the serenity of a beautiful clean lake, so you can enjoy the views all day long and into the night over a glass of wine! 🙂 There is lots of natural light inside the cottage making everything feel fresh and bright, and it was thoroughly clean when we arrived and well stocked with all the amenities. We enjoyed quiet canoe rides across the lake, hot tubs at night overlooking the lake, and lovely visits from ducks at the dock in the morning and chipmunks too. It was all very enjoyable.

The cottage had everything our group needed and it was especially helpful that it was equipped with baby supplies. The dock was big and very close to the local boat launch area. The hot tub was perfect for the adults at night. I would stay here again in a heart beat.Thank you !!

Awesome summer vacation

Family just spent a fantastic week at Bright Sun Escape on Lake Kennisis. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the water activities, paddle boat, kayak, canoe, and boogie board. The large dock allowed us to spend time together on the lake relaxing in the sun, and fishing. We enjoyed watching all the boats and the fireworks off the dock on July 1st. Sandy beach was great for the little ones to build sand castles, and look for frogs along the shore. Great spot would highly recommend.

We stayed in June and everything about the cottage was beyond our expectations. We had four adults, two toddlers and two babies and there was plenty of room for all of us. The cottage was clean and had all the ammenities we needed. A great family getaway and we would definately book again.

Pristine, chic, family friendly!
The most beautiful cottage, with highest quality in every detail and in every room. We had 6 adults and one 11 month old and a 3 year old Labrador. We had every luxury provided.
