Well equipped, cozy cottage

Clover Nook was an impressive cottage, being much more well equipped and stocked compared to what we were expecting! The cute rooms are small but perfect for a short stay, the desk and wifi are great for \'working from home\', and the availability of watercraft (paddleboards, paddleboat, etc.) was very convenient. The couch in the sunroom was the most comfortable couch I\'ve ever sat on! The septic smell was quite unpleasant throughout the weekend, which was the one major downside, but I suspect this was just a quick fix that was taken care of after we left (we were visiting over the long weekend, so didn\'t want to bug anyone! I\'m sure they would have come sooner to fix the problem if we had reached out).

Thanks taking the time to submit a review!  We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your time at the cottage.  We are aware of the septic smell which is wafting over from a neighbouring cottage.  The neighbours have been informed and are taking steps to address the issue.  We don't expect this to be an ongoing issue.

Nice cottage

Overall, we enjoyed the cottage. We would have liked more and brighter lamps. Hard to see well enough to read in certain places We missed having a microwave We were disappointed that the paddle boat and the canoe were so filthy we couldn’t use them, and a different umbrella system on the dock would have been nice The paddle boards were very nice The cottage was clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable We enjoyed the lake and made good use of it

Wonderful location and cozy cottage for families

We just returned from a wonderful week at the very well-appointed and charming Clover Nook Cottage on Haliburton Lake. Our party of young parents with two little ones and grandparents found that the cottage provided most of what was on our checklist-including easy shallow entry, great lake views, A/C, and a well-equipped kitchen with functional, high-end appliances. We are cooks, so as stated in another review, we missed having another frying pan-but travel with our favs anyways! We only slightly missed not having a microwave, but the air fryer was a bonus! While the rooms were small, and only one had storage aside from some hangers, we found the beds quite comfortable. The weather was less than ideal during our week, so we were happy to have a little extra space with the sunroom and an extra TV! We loved having so many games, and the owners were very considerate to leave some fantastic sand toys for the kids! As well, having children\'s dinnerware and a highchair was appreciated immensely! The tasteful and bright decor also adds to this cottage\'s charm. Just an FYI for future renters: There is an incline going to the waterfront, which can be challenging for those with bad knees but not a deal breaker! The small beach area and sandy shore made for a fun time for the kids, and easier canoe/kayak entry. Haliburton Lake is absolutely beautiful, and the short paddle from the bay where the cottage is located to the big lake was scenic and very enjoyable. We recommend this cottage to young families or small groups, and hope to return ourselves one day!

Great cottage

Cottage has pretty well everything you need. Great for young kids Full sun on dock all day Sunroom is really nice Here are my only criticisms not a deal breaker just fix these and I would give you 10/10 1) limited cook wear like frypan 2) no microwave but does have air fryer 3) all exterior doors have locks and automatically lock when you shut the door so you need to key code in every time 4) need more umbrellas on dock hard to get shade for more than a few people 5) no closets and very limited hanging clothes space or luggage storage 6) stove is difficult to operate because it’s not gas and is a certain electric type. Need written instructions and stove top should only have stainless steel pots and pans not aluminum 7) cottage to water is a slight hill and would be difficult for older people 8) should have better instructions and dedicated boxes for recycling These are all petty things but would make a difference if they were addressed

A few helpful tips for the benefit of future guests:

1) the "auto-lock" feature on doors can be turned off by turning dial on inside section of door lock.  (We have just added this to cottage info package, thanks for pointing this out!)

2) There are detailed sorting instructions, complete with pictures, in the cottage welcome book that is available in the cottage and also provided to guests digitally.

A week at Cozy Nook

Fabulous cottage

Beautifully renovated and decorated. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Sunporch is a great spot to relax! Amazing view from the dock with plenty of sun! Lower water level in August but the sandy entry is great! Marina on the lake has anything you may need!
