Heartland on Gull
Minden Hills
3 bedroom, 1 bathroom (plus Bunkie) cottage located minutes outside of Minden on the Gull River. Cottage is located on a flat lot with large lawn. Unlike most cottages we work with, this one is situated on the Gull River and features a riverside dock. The river bottom is soft sand but gets deep fairly quickly. There is great clear and weed-free swimming, but there is a bit of a current so it is not ideal for toddlers. For the older kids, or a family activity, you can float the "lazy river" from downtown Minden all the way to the cottage. It takes between 1 - 2 hours depending on how many times you stop along the way. The cottage itself has a well stocked kitchen and great sunroom. There is lots of seating outside around the fire pit.

Beautiful setting and wonderful home.

We chose Heartland on Gull for our annual week-long summer family getaway due to the proximity to town, and we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet and private it is! We were close to a small activity centre for the kids to enjoy, as well as being 5 mins away from a grocery store for those last minute items. The river was beautifully crisp and enjoyable on the hot days, and the spacious cottage had more than enough space for the 6 of us to relax on the only rainy day. We have been staying in the Haliburton area for almost 10 years now and this was our favourite place yet! We hope to enjoy a stay next year.

Comfortable great value and charming.

If you're looking for an 'Old Fashioned' stylish and comfortable cottage, this is the place for you; beautifully finished and decorated with a large kitchen, dinning and living area. the large, enclosed sun room is a great extra touch. The house and grounds are a veritable museum of knick-knacs, memorabilia and objects of art. It is large enough, that on our stay,4 adults never felt a need for space. The beds are better than average, There is a very well equipped kitchen, and outdoor sitting areas on the deck, the fire pit or the dock, One draw back is a very small BBQ.

Great Stay

Our stay at the cottage was perfect. It was my wife and I and one of our sons and our pup. We loved all of the antiques and decorations throughout the cottage. Their was plenty of places to relax inside and out. Our only complaint was the mattress on the master bed was quite soft. The river was quite strong which made it difficult to swim very far. (Obviously you can do nothing about that) But other than that we concluded that it was the nicest cottage for our needs that we have rented so far!

Great cottage! Comfortable, clean and relaxing
We love this cottage, the interior is inviting and comfortable and the property is immaculately maintained. The personal touches inside and outside make this cottage stand out from others we have stayed at. The dock and the river are the best features, the river is fresh and clean and provides fantastic swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. So many places to sit and relax with a book. We will definitely be back next year!

Better than the Photos!

We stayed at Heartland on Gull for a week in July, and we were SO impressed. The cottage is much nicer than the photos let on. Everything you could possibly need is here (for day to day life). The cottage was welcoming, clean and cozy. Enough space for two families with children to stay comfortably. The only downside was the river, as there was a stronger current on some days. The kids were able to play in the sandy bottom right close to the shore, but they could not really "swim". The neighbours are also closer than they seemed in the photos, but we actually only saw them twice over the whole week! The river is very quiet and peaceful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely amazing stay. Kids and I had a great time... Cottage is beautiful and conformable plenty of room and privacy..kids spent most of the weekend on the dock playing games reading fishing and kayaking... I loved my mornings on the dock... With my tea and the birds... River was quiet for boating traffic.. We had a fantastic time
