Clean, quiet, perfect stay

The cottage is great, everything that we need is there. It is clean and well cared for. It is really great to have laundry on site. We have 3 children, and they love the gradual entry beach and jumping off the dock. The grandparents loved sitting on the deck and the bird watching. It is a quiet lake, a very peaceful spot. We hope to visit again next year.

Steeples Cottage was a pleasant experience!

Although the cottage was not air conditioned, we were pleasantly surprised that the cool breeze off the lake made our stay very comfortable. It is a short drive to Haliburton and Buttermilk Falls for day trips and the Eagle Lake market just down the road and the West Guilford shopping center had everything we needed. The deck extended across the whole back of the cottage. The only con of the deck was that there was no hand rail on the stairs off the deck making it difficult for my wife who has had a stroke get off the deck to go to the beach. The fishing was great catching several lake trout by boat and rock bass off the dock. It was the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed at in our 7 years of cottage going.

Exceeded all our expectations

The cottage was well kept, cozy and perfectly situated on the water and just down the road from the country market, which sold everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Also nearby were a playground, breweries and nearby attractions like Haliburton Sculpture Forest, a must-visit for families! The screened-in porch was a definite bonus and the expansive back deck was the perfect place to watch the sunset. The sandy beach was smaller than anticipated but there was still plenty of room for the kids to play. We also made great use of the stand up paddleboard, kayaks, peddleboat and canoe. We will definitely be back!

Such a great week!

We had an amazing week at Steeples cottage in July! The cottage inside and out was an amazing size for two families, and very clean and modern. Eagle lake is beautiful and we were so happy to have both a dock for jumping off of as well as the beach for the younger kids. Would definitely love to come back!The only item that would be great is a swim ladder at the end of the dock. When the kids jumped off we kept having to pull them back on.Thanks again!

Perfect for Families

This was our second year at Steeples, and we hope to return again! With the sand beach and shallow entry, it's perfect for families with younger kids.The cottage is very spacious, clean, and has everything we needed for a great stay. The view is amazing, and the local wildlife very friendly. The only downside was the lack of A/C. We stayed during one of the hottest weeks, but that won't keep us from renting again. The only thing to note is that the pictures are a little out of date, and the play structure isn't in the best shape for the kids, but there was lots of other things to keep them occupied (I don't think they cared about anything other than the water anyway), so it's not a problem.

The cottage is a big beautiful place with wonderful outdoor space on a picturesque lake! The photos don’t do it justice, it is very spacious and has everything you need! I would totally recommend this cottage to friends and family. We allloved it!!

A wonderful Haliburton cottage experience!

We loved our stay at Steeples Cottage! It accomodates our family perfectly, with lots of bedrooms and space. It fits the description of a cottage, but is a house at the same time. We love the backyard, the dock, the swing set for the children, the sandy beach, and most important...the view! This is our second year, and we definitely plan on coming again next year.

How refreshing and comforting to find a cottage that appeals to your needs from inside and outside the cottage! Sometimes you rent and you get a nice cottage and ok lakefront or the reverse, this is perfect for both. Our family and friends were very happy and pleased with all amenities and comfort. We are booking for next year already!!

AWESOME!!!!

Yet another awesome stay at Steeples cottage. We loved it in 2010 and enjoyed it again in 2011!!! The cottage is perfect for family vacation! We were 7 adults and 3 small children (ages 5 to 18 months) What a blast! The cottage is perfect with every amenity you would ever want. The lake water was 74 degrees - great for swimming. We already can't wait to re-book for 2012!!!Linda

The cottage is very clean and bug free! Fantastic private lot with sandy beach and shallow water. The internet and flat screen TV was a nice surprise. Brand new HE washer and dryer was handy for quick loads. We were 7 adults and 3 children (1 yr, and 2 four yr olds) and we had plenty of space. The rooms are much larger than they appear in the pictures. The extra den was a great play room for the kids! We found the beds to be really hard and would bring foam pads with us next time. Loved it and it's worth every penny!
We appreciate your feedback as it enables us to address any issues you had at the cottage. New mattresses have been purchased for two of the beds.

Perfect cottage experience

We rented Steeples in July 2009. We went with our friends and so there was 4 adults and 5 children, ages 3 to 12. The cottage is lovely, clean and very spacious. We made good use of all the space and each family had their own washroom. The screened in porch was used for every lunch and dinner. The kitchen was perfect to work in with a couple of helpers and you still felt connected to the outside with the large picture windows with the beautiful view. The sandbeach with shallow water was ideal for the kids. Swimming off the dock was clean and easy. The abundence of wildlife was the favorite of all of us. We had visits from deer, a mother duck and her 9 ducklings, a large turtle (Old Malcolm)who enjoyed swimming with us and hiding under the dock, frogs at all stages of development and grasshopers who seemed content to be passed from hand to hand. Sitting on the beach around the fire pit roasting marshmellows, fishing off the dock, quietly hiding on the private balcony to watch the sunrise, it really was a perfect cottage getaway. We will be back again.

Perfect for small children

just came back from 4 days at "steeples". Our group consisted of 4 adults and 4 small children. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. The location and shallow water with sandy beach was also great for the kids. I found it very private and a great place to really relax (when the kids were asleep after playing all day!!) Kudos to the property owners (and all season cottage rentals) for creating such a great vacation spot..we enjoyed it completely and would recommend it to anyone...
