Great cottage!

This cottage has a wonderful well-stocked kitchen with generous island , great outdoor activities and a huge deck with lots of options for seating, dining and hummingbird viewing. We visited the town of Buckhorn and Kawartha Winery which is about a a 30 minute drive from the cottage as well as Huntsville which is 1 hr45 minutes away. The dock area was nice for relaxing and the water was warm for swimming and floating with pool noodles or inner tubes. We had a great time here. I would recommend it.

Pristine cottage on a beautiful lake!

My family had a wonderful time at the cottage. The lake was beautiful, the cottage is modern and it is in a great location. Saying that this cottage was clean is an understatement. I have rented many cottages over the past couple decades and this was by far the cleanest one I’ve ever stayed in. It is very well kept. You can tell the owners take pride in their property.

We returned...that says it all.

A lovely, clean, comfy cottage on a small lake. We've rented here twice now and would return. The new deck is an enhancement. Nice swimming. Well kitted out kitchen. A nice place to relax for a week.

Great Cottage

by Robert McGall
The cottage is very updated, with a great kitchen. The new deck is amazing, with the addition of the outdoor couch. The beds are a tad firm but not a deal breaker. Ceiling fans are helpful when it is hot and work well. Lots of interesting wildlife (tons of blue jays, a crane came right up to the dock) The dock is a bit small and has seen better days. It would be great if it went out a bit farther as it gets sunny in the afternoon. As this is a huge expense, especially after putting in such a great wrap-around deck, this, too, was not a deal breaker. This was only an issue with our daughters. All in all, a terrific cottage with decent wifi. Peaceful, comfortable and worth booking.
Thanks for your review! We are thrilled to announce that a brand new dock has been installed for summer 2024. Pictures of the new dock are up on the cottage profile.

Great place to stay with lots to do

Staying at billing’s lake will not disappoint. Some things that are not on the listing that should be noted- steep stairs to the dock,Need to have extra caution. Dock stairs and rock can be slippery use the brush to brush that away. The stay was amazing - we had a blast, from kayak, floating rings, sup board m, paddle boar. And the best part great weather. The kitchen was modern enough to support our needs. Some thing I would add is a pizza pan- we made pizza on a rainy day and had a pizza cutter but didn’t have a pan . Another items to note is that you should bring clear garbage bags and the dump is not open on Friday so you need to take your garbage with you. It’s openIn the middle of the week Lots of mosquitoes so bring your bug spray. Love watching the hummingbirds at the windows and reading a book in the muskoka chairs . That also needs to nw added to the listing - muskoka chairs by dock and fire and reading ones. The sun shines on the dock from 2-7And provides a lot of fun times in the water There is no sandy area but otherwise a great place to catch lots ofFish . We got a pickerel and bass small and large . Quite the selection. I found the price to be expensive but our choice were slim and everything has gone up in price. Ps the owners were amazing left us a bottle of wine from aLocal winery. Would love to stay there again .

A wonderful well kept cottage with a beautiful property and nice water to swim in. The cottage is perfect and well kept. The hosts were wonderful and left small gifts which were locally sourced. We had a lovely stay.

Fabulous, memorable, a real retreat!

by Pitt Rebecca
Our family of 5 (with 3 tall teenagers) enjoyed a relaxing and fun 2 weeks at this lovely cottage. The owners were accessible for questions and it's clear the place is well-maintained are cared for. Particular positive elements:(1) the layout inside: a spacious living area with a large kitchen in which we could spread out even on rainy days. It was easy to arrange bedrooms and the kids and adults appreciated having the option to escape for some alone time in the bedrooms, as needed.(2) the site: plenty of outdoor spaces (including a large deck) to spread out, sit and read, drink morning coffee, relax in a hammock (we brought our own and there are lots of tall trees to hang them on)...(3) well-equipped inside: water cooler, large-screen smart TV, lots of seating space, ceiling fans in rooms, newly renovated kitchen in which you just have to check the counter or drawers and will find every utensil you could dream up, including sharp knives!(4) lovely and well-equipped waterfront: paddle board, kayak, canoe, pedal boat, fun flotation devices, and the host gave ideas for great distance swims across the bay and lake.(5) nature: we got some of our best pictures of hummingbirds, loons, and blue herons, both from the dock as well as during a peaceful paddle to a marshy area at the far end of the lake.(6) personal but easy to move in and make it your own during your stay: empty drawers and closets in bedrooms, space in kitchen bathroom cupboards, clean and uncluttered - A REAL FIND!
