A modern, comfortable, four season home built on the shores of Redstone Lake...one of Haliburton's premier lakes...this rental cottage is on an extremely private lot. The cottage has the ideal layout for 2 families with 2 bedrooms upstairs and two down. It's nestled in the contours of the landscape and surrounded by towering pines, giving a sense of privacy. From your dock you have a lovely view of Blueberry Island, a small rock outcrop with a few weathered trees that seems like it belongs in a Group of Seven painting...an easy canoe or kayak trip. The location features big lake views, afternoon sun and spectacular sunsets all year long. Redstone Lake offers wonderful swimming right off the dock. A deep lake, it also provides excellent Lake Trout fishing all year long. For those who enjoy boating, Redstone as part of a three lake chain, is especially attractive, with lots of space for water skiing or just cruising/exploring. Just across the road, forested lands extend into the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve (80,000 acres of undeveloped land under certified conservation management) and then beyond into Algonquin Park. Just a few kilometers from the Haliburton Forest base camp, the cottage has easy access to the Haliburton Forest's many wonderful wilderness resources including extensive trails, an observatory/planetarium, the wolf centre, winter dog sledding, snow shoeing, as well as interpretive programs and an active sawmill & forest products woodshop. While many think of warm summers and swimming when conjuring images of cottage life, Towering Pines also offers spectacular winter recreation opportunities. Local snowmobile trails can be picked up where they cross Redstone Lake and the expanse of the lake offers wonderful snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Heaven away from the bustle

It was our second year renting Towering Pines and it keeps getting better. The owners have been renovating the cottage over time and it's a beautiful spot inside to compliment the lake view outside. I look forward to renting it again next summer.

This was our third year at Towering Pines. Every year, something has been upgraded. The only thing lacking is a dishwasher. We enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this cottage.

Great cottage!

The cottage itself was very clean, modern and comfortable for 6 adults and 1 child. We enjoyed it very much. We were there at the end of June during a heat wave which was great. We had beautiful weather! Nothing beats sitting on the dock by a calm lake with your morning coffee and seeing the wildlife in their natural habitats. The bugs were a little crazy but to be expected. The neighbours dog visited us many times a day and really added to the experience. Also, the kayaks and canoe are amazing additions. One little thing, it is unfortunate there aren't walking trails to explore...Lastly, the cleaning list is a bit excessive. I understand leaving the cottage clean and tidy but it is a bit much - especially when there are cleaners that come in afterwards. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend it. Thank you!

Perfect Family Memories

This is our second year at Towering Pines, and we certainly want to return next year. The cottage is spotless and has all the amenities that you could ask for. Each year, the owners update something - this year it was the laundry room with a new washer and dryer. The lily pad is always a hit with our grandchildren. We can't wait to return and make more memories!!!

Great cottage in a great location

Cottage was perfect for us with 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs and 2 bedrooms and bath downstairs. Very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Great lake and dock area provided both sun and shade. Excellent fire pit area. The fact that there are no stairs from the front porch was a bit of an inconvenience, but we got used to it. The blue cottage to the west of us was a bit closer that I would have liked but they were generally pretty quiet. All in all, a great week!

Complete relaxation

We fell in love with the cottage and its location as soon as we arrived and enjoyed our stay in a peaceful and relaxing environment. We visited the nearby Wolf Sanctuary and the pretty Haliburton Village. The drive from Toronto Airport was straight forward and Sat Nav took us right to the cottage (and back to the car rental return at the end of our holiday). The staff at the rental firm made booking from the UK very easy.

Awesome cottage

This is a really nice cottage. Southern exposure makes it sunny. The lake is great. We did not have too many people around in June so no issues with noisy powerboats. There are two kayaks and one canoe but the kids really enjoyed the lily pad. The cottage has only one shower and no dishwasher but it turned out to be ok. Perhaps for larger companies it would be a bit of a squeeze,All the bloodsucking creatures were relentless in June so take a lot of bug spray.All in all, we had a great week at the cottage. Highly recommended.

Spacious and comfortable

Stayed here for a "crafting week" with friends at the beginning of September. Even though the weather was not entirely cooperative, we were able to enjoy a few evening sunsets down on the dock as well as the nearby Wolf Centre, hiking trails and towns. The cottage is fairly new, clean, spacious, warm and dry with all of the comforts of home.

A beautiful home in a beautiful and quiet location

Our family stayed in this beautiful property that is in a lovely position on the lake - and so quiet! We had great fun swimming, kayaking and enjoying the local wolf sanctuary etc. The property was even more beautiful than in the photos on the website.The only disappointment was the amount of cleaning expected of us on leaving.A lovely cottage that we would recommend to others.

Fun at the cottage

We have just returned from a family vacation at Towering Pines. What a beautiful place to stay for some R & R. The grandkids had so much fun swimming and the new Lily Pad was a real hit. The fishing was fun for the girls as well. Cottage was very clean and so comfortable and was very well equipped with everything that you would need. Amazing Cottage!

We just returned from a week at Towering Pines with our family. The cottage was ideal for our family which included 4 grandchildren. The kids loved the bunk bed and the lily-pad was a highlight for adults as well, Thank you so much for making it available to us. The cottage was so clean and the beds were excellent. No negative comments other then it would be great to have an extra fridge available when you have 10 people at the cottage for a week. The kids loved to kayak or swim to Blueberry Island. All I can say is amazing. A great place to relax and create family memories. Thank you so much for renting out Towering Pines, we hope to return next year. Oh, cell reception was great as well as my Hotspot with Virgin Mobile/Bell. The connection worked well even on the dock!

Beautiful autumn setting

One of our best cottage rentals ever. Although we generally rent a cottage in the Muskokas, this Haliburton setting is just as spectacular. Sparkling clean cottage welcomed us on our arrival. Everything we could have needed was available. The cottage was very comfortable for the six of us, but could have easily accommodated another couple. Only complaint would be the rocky shoreline - not too child friendly. Hoping to be able to spend more than a weekend there next year.

Great cottage for 2 families to share!

This cottage was everything we expected it to be. Very well equipped and immaculate. Lots of space for everyone. It works very well for two families, especially with the two living room areas (one for the kids, one for the adults!). Be cautioned, if you have a bedroom on the lower level you will hear EVERYTHING above.

This is a well kept cottage that is well equipped with good kitchen equipment. Lots of times when renting cottages - you get the cheap fry pans and limited utensils - this place had everything we could want. The only thing missing I would say is maybe a dishwasher as at the end of each meal - several people would have to do dishes rather than joining the rest of our group. The beds are in excellent condition with warm duvets (think they are down). There's no cable or internet so if there is a game to catch - you have to be creative. Access to the water is great and although there are quite a few cottages nearby, it felt somewhat private - probably because not many people were up Thanksgiving weekend.

Towering Pines Exceeded Our Expectations!

Towering Pines was a great cottage with all the amenities needed. We have rented for over 12 years in the Haliburton area and have stayed in many nice cottages, but I have to say that Towering Pines was one of the best. It is great to have sharp knives, graters, garlic press, cork screw, measuring cups, etc. when preparing meals. There was plenty of room both inside and out and we all enjoyed swimming, boating and kayaking! We appreciated the information provided by the owners, as well as the bottle of wine! A terrific time was had by all and we hope to have the opportunity to rent Towering Pines again next year.

The large turn around at the end of Redkenn Road was a perfect spot to park the snow mobile trailer. The trails were great and easy to find. The lake provided a great venue to cross country ski. Just down the road we visited the wolf centre and watched as teams of dog sleds took people on a thrilling ride. The cottage was very comfortable with warm interiors and thick cosy duvets on very comfortable beds. I can't wait to go again!

Great March break get away.

The cottage was extremely clean, up-to-date, and had all the required amenities, including bathrooms on both the main and lower floor. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable and we found the cottage to be well heated - perfect for our winter getaway. It was very convenient to get to Sir Sam's ski hill, and we had fun snow-shoeing on picturesque Redstone lake to Blueberry Island and seeing the fishing huts out on the lake. The general area seems to have a lot to offer - The Haliburton Wolf Centre is only a few minutes away. A perfect cottage for enjoying all the winter activities this area has to offer!Barry and Kim K.

Great for kids

Redstone lake is beautiful and great for swimming. The kids loved jumping off the dock and fishing. The main floor of the cottage was open concept kitchen, dining room and living room with nice views of the lake. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Beds were very comfortable and overall the cottage was very clean. Looking forward to going back another time. Paul and Kristen.

All the comforts of home!

From the moment we arrived, Towering Pines delivered on everything we were looking for in a great vacation. The cottage was immaculately clean and tidy, and the open concept provided ample room for all of us - 8 adults, 2 dogs and a newborn - so that we never felt crowded. The kitchen was very well equipped, and the lower family room was a great getaway spot during rainy times to enjoy a movie. The property was spacious and secluded and the dock was a great place to read a book, cast a fishing line, take a refreshing dive from or just snooze in the comfy Muskoka chairs! Overall, Towering Pines offered a great respite from the hustle and bustle and had a very warm and welcoming feeling to it.

Great extended family vacation

We all enjoyed our time together at Towering Pines. The cottage is really spacious, with the 2 living rooms everyone had a spot to quietly read or sit together and play games/chat. The bedrooms were very spacious (bigger than the pictures seem) Kitchen is extremely well equipped, we were able to cook great meals and sit around the large table all together. The lake is gorgeous with little boat traffic, so peaceful and picturesque. It is about 25 mins to the store in West Guilford so be sure to stock up on groceries so you don't waste time away from this great spot!! The canoe and kayaks were great to have. Beautiful picture windows and large upper deck are great if the weather isn't co-operating too. It is a wonderful place to really get away from it all and feel it!
